Praise the Father, Praise the Son

From So Young and James:

So Young asked that I post the lyrics to “Praise the Father, Praise the Son,” a song written by Chris Tomlin. She couldn’t sleep on Saturday night (not because of the middle school slumber party downstairs, mind you, but because of ongoing sleep problems), and this song gave her a lot of peace, so she typed out the lyrics. She said that she always found the song beautiful, but the lyrics hadn’t meant as much to her until now. As she finished typing, it started to snow.

O sovereign God, O matchless  king
The saints adore, the angels  sing
And fall before the throne the throne of grace
To You belongs the highest praise.

These sufferings, this passing tide
Under your wings I will abide
And every enemy shall flee
You are my hope in victory!

Praise the Father, praise the Son,
Praise the Spirit, three in one.
Clothed in power and in grace,
The name above all other names.

To the valley for my soul
Thy great descent has made me whole.
Your Word my heart has welcomed home
Now peace like water overflows.

  1. Hi Dear Ones. I was really happy to meet you all last week.
Our families have been no strangers to troubles over the years & our son Joe said when he was about 8 years old and hurting pretty badly : “In our family, we don’t laugh at adversity, we beat it up & then make fun of the way it walks.” (There is still some bitterness there & I long for the day when that now 30 year old will show up @ ABC & let it all go)
All this to say, in Christ, in this wonderful body of believers, we have the “more Excellent way”.

I am praying for you all, body, soul & Spirit: that the love of Christ may so permeate your household & your interactions that health & healing MUST abound, on every level, and all sorroow & things not of Christ must flee. We put our hands in His, and away we go… life is a journey…
    Psalm 103.

I am expecting you to call & let me know how I can help out with driving or kid tending or chores!
Did you get the Elderberry tonic & the downloads from NIH?

    Shalom,
    Ellen

    • I love what your son said! That’s great. Thanks for the encouraging words. Thank you for everything you sent our way. Also, thanks so much for navigating the other day. Your company and sense of humor were much appreciated. God bless! — James and So Young

  2. Is today covered what with school delays & road hazards on 495?

    • Ellen,

Sorry for the delayed response. Yes, it is covered. Thank you! I’ll send you a list of available days via e-mail.

      — James
