A Renewed Purpose

From So Young:

“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” – Philippians 1:21

Is it normal for my days to be filled with this much laughter? I don’t remember a time that I’ve ever felt more love, joy, peace, and contentment. I feel God’s hand on me daily. He’s been encouraging me to keep trusting and believing that  He has a good and perfect plan for my life. We’ve hit some rough patches in the past year, but his grace has filled me and my family with more faith. I’m alive in Christ. I don’t ever want to go back to the slumbering Christian I was. What does it matter to have the whole world, yet lose your soul? I’m also more thankful now than I’ve ever been. Things I used to grumble about have become the biggest blessings. Although I’m still waiting for a physical healing, I feel like I’ve received a huge internal healing, even as I wait for God’s eternal healing. I had been wasting my life serving myself and not God and others. I don’t know what tomorrow brings, so I keep planting my feet, one in front of the other. I know what the Lord has for me is very good. I want to live each day, every moment, for him.

Here are a few videos that have meant a lot to me recently.

This is a remixed Lecrae video that starts with part of a John Piper sermon about not wasting your life:

  1. Great links! John Piper is right! You are correct as well. This experience continues to change me in good ways. I love your up beat attitude. Love,

    • Thank you! Big hugs and lots of love to you.

      Love, So Young

  2. Your approach to life is just wonderful and uplifting. You are a remarkable woman. Hopefully we’ll meet again at the MCM this year!

    • Wouldn’t miss it for the world. Can’t wait to see you and everyone. I’m eternally grateful for your continuing thoughts and prayers for me and my family. You all lift me up and keep me in this race.

  3. Rubster,
Awesome video for certain. This would be a good get busy for a mile song. I could see doing mile repeats to this tune. 6 1/2 minutes would give a solid mile pace with maybe needing to push it a bit faster.

Sorry I have been out of the loop for a month or so but I have been in Australia doing the things they make me do. Good to be back to your website. Next time I have to take your link with me so I can chime in. Happy Birthday a bit late but still. Charlotte is not right she meant to say we can not wait to see you again at this years MCM, running or no running. I may put your call sign on the front of my shirt so your name will be called out as I pass the many spectators on the course.

    “Go Ruby”

    • Thanks Jimmy. No worries. I’m just humbled by the fact that you still remember me and have dropped in again to check up on me.

The t-shirt idea is great. I know you’ll be running so fast you might miss my/our t-shirt it’ll say, “GO JIMMY GO!”

      🙂 Rubster

  4. This is good one to sit and listen to. It is very good to sit and be silent to!

  5. Thanks for sharing what God is doing in your life, it always encourages me. I also enjoyed your family newsletter, very creative.
