Prayer Requests

Updated April 19, 2013.

So Young is gone now. All of the prayers that were going to be answered have been answered. Many were not, or maybe the answer was “no.” Certainly none were answered how we would have wanted, except that So Young would be restored, which she is, only in heaven and not on earth.

Please pray for the girls and James as they adjust to life without a mother and wife.

  1. Yes, of course I will.

  2. Thank you for the list of prayer request as this helps me understand your needs better. I am learning so much about God’s faithfulness and grace through your experience. I admire the way you are handling the situation and the way your friends and our church minister to you. I am very grateful for all of the prayers.

I wait expectantly for God’s healing of So Young.

  3. It’s my pleasure and my privilege to join with my sisters and brothers in Christ to appeal to our great physician for So Young’s healing.

  4. I will pray for you So Young and fast for you. I have seen answers to our prayers for you and again we will see God working thru you and James. AS in Luke 8:15
But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

  5. Thanks everyone for your commitment to pray! So great to hear from you.

    • My dear James and So Young,
My Sunday school class and I have had you in our prayers. So Young, how I have admired you through all this…your marathon runs, being such a great mother and wife has touched my life. ..and James, you have always exhibited a gift of the fulfilling of the Holy Spirit in your life from a very young age. We continue to pray and hold fast. Please know that there are so many who care and may not know how or what to express our sentiments and have that desire of “What can I do to help? We love you and continuously hold you in our hearts and prayers.

  6. Listen to this at about 1:40 in is my favorite part!

  7. So Young,

There is another option that can help..THC, the active agent in medicinal cannabis. It has been known for many years that cannabis shrinks tumors. Big pharma does not want us to know this, it would destroy their profits forever.

PLEASE RESEARCH THIS THOROUGHLY. I BEG YOU TO OPEN YOUR MIND, Cannabis is not the monster it is made to be by the mass media. It’s an herb that chemically reacts with pre-existing receptors inside your body. THE HUMAN BODY IS HARD-WIRED FOR MEDICINAL THC. It is God’s medicine:

  9. I will keep praying! What a wonderful story God has been weaving and continue to weave through your lives together with His Saints. May He continue to be glorified as He is now through your family in 2012. Love you guys!

    • Sandy,

This Sunday was another example of God’s blessing from our church family! We enjoyed the delicious food you made as part of our otherwise non-Korean New Year’s meal. It was great!

Many blessings to you and yours this year!

      Love,

      James and So Young

  10. I am praying that God will supply you with His strength. I know this is very difficult. Know that mighty warriors are praying to the Almighty God on your behalf.

  11. So Young, many, many prayers for you and your family at this upsetting and unsettling time. With God, and faith, and love, anything and everything is possible, and that includes not only making it thru this marathon, but coming out a winner.

  12. I am praying for you and your family, So Young. So many people are praying for you 🙂 Know that you are all very loved and God is indeed near ❤

    In Christ,

  13. So Young,

You do not know me, but I know of you. You have blessed us by leading Anne to Christ and into our lives. She has spoken so fondly of you and has shared your impact on her life by the Grace of God. In the midst of your suffering, you reached out and shared the love of Christ with her. Amazing Faith! We will continue to pray for your healing, but most of all, a humble heart that clings to our wonderful God. I know you have gone through many trials and suffering. This reminds me of Romans 5 which states:

    Peace with God Through Faith

5 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith[b] into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. 11 More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

So Young, we pray for your health and that God may grant you peace. We pray that your faith in Him would be increased and that your story would reveal God’s love to those around you. We pray that God would use you in a mighty way for His Glory, and His Kingdom and your Joy. We pray against lies from the Enemy and that you would hear and speak the truth of our King, Lord and Savior. We pray for your family that the Lord would give them strength to serve and love you and those around you. Lean into the Lord. May the Holy Spirit encourage you always.

    Your Family in Christ,

Steve, Erin, Helena, Dillon and Barrett Coulston.

  14. So Young, in times of difficulty it is hard to know what to say, but we can say Thank you. Thank you for being a women of God. For sharing his love boldly with those that did not know Him. You have been such a blessing in Ann’s life and because of that, she is now a blessing in ours and others that she meets. Stay strong in the Love Peace and Joy that only can come from our Lord and Savior. God is our only strength in time of struggle, and for that we can rejoice. We are praying for your healing, for your family, and that many more lives will be touched by God through your life.
    For His Glory!

  15. James,

Having this list of things to pray for gave me so much guidance and understanding; thank you. I will look at this list regularly and pray for each of these items. Love and hugs to you and So Young, Jen S

    • Thank you, Jennifer! That’s the most important thing you can do. We’re praying for you, too!

  16. My friend wrote this on her QT blog and I just wanted to share it here.

    Emancipation

Lord, thank you for your reign, your rule, your authority over sin, evil and death. Thank you for your love incarnate, which makes having true hope amidst palpable adversity possible. I pray for our world and all of the individuals who inhabit it. Whether in sickness or in full health, in plenty or in want, may we know and experience in our souls the vastness, the depth, the exhilaration of your life-giving spirit today… And as children who belong to You, may we always run forward and towards, into Your arms—not merely as a way of escape, but as a way of remembrance that You are closer and greater than anything, so that we can then turn and face life (that miraculous reality which we cannot evade) with You. You have spoken to Your chosen people in the past as “I Am”. That, You are. Your name speaks to our inherent nature of meagerness and need. What a revelation to find You are God who is fulfillment itself, Your embodiment not only nominal, but thoroughly and profoundly exact, with patent purpose throughout generations. I’m humbled and so in earnestness commit myself to You. To our Lord who is the I Am, I pray in the powerful, incontrovertible, name of Jesus… Amen.

  17. What a beautiful request. Of course we will. We love you.

  18. I pray with you James. I pray for you. God is with you. We love you. God loves you.

  19. I will pray for you and your family. I pray for peace for all of you. God bless you all.

  20. “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”
You and So Young daily fill my prayers…we do pray for healing…He raised the dead, healed lepers…so much more. Because He lives we can have forever hope. So Young has spoken bountifully to so many…Thank you, James, in your hurt and suffering that you share.
